Over time, condensation, moisture, and the presence of water behind the lens are natural phenomena that can occur with any auxiliary lighting. With over 35 years of experience in designing and manufacturing performance lights, KC stands firmly behind our products. We aim to address common customer queries about condensation, emphasizing that it is a naturally occurring condition, not a defect, and does not qualify for warranty claims. Importantly, condensation does not impact the performance of your LED, HID, or Halogen light.
Condensation refers to the transition of water from a gas to a liquid, forming small droplets inside the light lens. During the manufacturing process, our lights are sealed, and occasionally, small amounts of air, possibly containing water in a gaseous form, can be trapped within the light. Our lights are specifically engineered to allow this trapped moisture to escape as weather and temperature conditions fluctuate. The dissipation rate of condensation varies based on environmental factors, including weather and humidity.
Certain Halogen lights are designed with natural airflow, promoting the dissipation of condensation. These lights run hotter, aiding the evaporation process. Additionally, we manufacture sealed lights equipped with a built-in breather membrane. This membrane permits the flow of air in and out, facilitating condensation dissipation without allowing water to enter the light. Many of our LED lights are also sealed with a breather membrane, but due to their cooler operating temperatures, it might take more time for condensation to disperse. Moreover, our lights incorporate plastic parts that can naturally release moisture when heated. These are all natural causes of condensation, and in most instances, condensation will naturally dissipate over time.
In the rare event of water ingress and significant leakage into the light or housing, we encourage customers to promptly contact our support team here. We are dedicated to investigating and assisting with any concerns related to your lights. Your satisfaction and the optimal performance of our products remain our top priorities.
