What is the GORE membrane?
Every Gravity Titan light includes a small component called a GORE membrane, sometimes referred to as a breather vent. Its job is to:
- Equalize air pressure inside the light housing
- Help prevent water, dust, and debris from entering the housing
- Reduce stress on the main seals
- Allow trapped water vapor to escape as temperatures change
This is a standard feature used across a wide range of sealed outdoor lighting products, including many KC HiLiTES lights.
What's the issue?
We've identified that on some Gravity Titan units, water ingress can occur if the seal around the original GORE membrane is compromised. When that happens, moisture can find its way into the housing during water exposure, heavy washdowns, temperature swings, pressure changes, or extended exposure to the elements.
What KC is doing about it
KC has moved to an updated GORE membrane design for the Gravity Titan, the same style already used and proven on our FLEX ERA and Profile product families. This updated membrane is now standard on Gravity Titan lights going forward.
What this means if your light is affected
If you're experiencing water ingress on a Gravity Titan, we've got you covered:
- Submit your light through our standard warranty process - Start a Return/Warranty
- Qualifying affected units will be replaced with a light that includes the updated GORE membrane.
Questions?
If you have a Gravity Titan showing signs of water ingress (fogging, moisture inside the lens, etc.), reach out to our support team with your order details and a description of the issue, and we'll take it from there.
