Short Answer
If your order was cancelled shortly after you placed it but before you received a shipping confirmation, it was most likely stopped by our automated payment security review, not by KC HiLiTES directly. This is a standard fraud-prevention check that all online orders go through and it doesn't mean anything is wrong with you as a customer.
Why This Happens
Our payment system automatically screens every order for signs of fraud before it ships. An order can get flagged and cancelled for a few common reasons:
- Address mismatch - the billing address on file with your card issuer doesn't match the shipping address you entered at checkout.
- Verified address mismatch - your shipping address is different from the address your bank has on record as your verified billing address.
- VPN or proxy connection - the order was placed while a VPN, proxy, or similar network tool was active (even one you didn't realize was running in the background).
How to Fix It
Here's what usually resolves the issue:
- Double-check your billing address. Call the number on the back of your card or log into your bank/card account to confirm the exact billing address on file. Use that exact address when you place your order.
- Place the order again using cellular data. Turn Wi-Fi completely off on your phone and use your cellular connection instead. This helps rule out any VPN or proxy interference from a home or office network, even if you weren't intentionally using one.
- Still declined? If the order is cancelled again after trying both steps above, contact us and we'll request a manual review with our payment processor.
If You Were Charged for a Cancelled Order
If you see a charge on your statement for an order that shows as cancelled, let us know, we'll look into it and can request confirmation of a voided transaction on our end. In most cases, a cancelled order does not result in a final charge, but it can take a few business days for a pending authorization to drop off your statement depending on your bank.
A Note on Privacy
This review process is fully automated and applies to all customers equally, it's not a judgment call about you personally, just a standard security step to protect against unauthorized card use.
