Over the years our classic Daylighter lights have gone through many different transitions. From our Classic halogen lights to our upgraded Daylighters with Gravity LED inserts. One thing that has not changed much is the classic round light Daylighter housing that we all love.
The classic Daylighter housings have been available in many different coatings over the years. We have had them in Chrome, Stainless Steel, Black Powder Coat over Chrome, and Black Powder Coat over Stainless Steel housings. Over time and through various weather conditions, the coating will eventually fade and tarnish. We have found that the best, longest-lasting coating for these housings is the Black Powder Coat over the Stainless Steel housings which is why, today, this is the only available option for our Daylighter lights.
Powder Coating like any other paint or colored finish on a product will wear and fade over time and use. Here are some tips to keep the finish on your products lasting longer:
- Carefully remove any loose surface deposits with a wet sponge.
- Use a soft brush (non-abrasive) and a dilute solution of a mild detergent, eg, pH-neutral liquid hand dishwashing detergent in warm water (DO NOT use solvents) to remove dust, salt, and other deposits.
- Ensure you thoroughly rinse the surfaces with clean fresh water after cleaning to remove all residues.
