If you're behind the wheel of a classic like a Bel Air, a Camaro, a vintage Bronco, an old F100 then chances are you didn't buy it to look modern. You bought it for the character. But there's one place where "modern" is worth the trade: what's actually lighting the road in front of you.
Original sealed-beam headlights from the '60s, '70s, and '80s were never great, and 50+ years later they're not getting any better. The good news is you don't have to choose between keeping the classic look and getting real nighttime visibility. Depending on how you want to approach it, there are a few solid paths.
Option 1: Keep the Housing, Upgrade the Guts. Daylighter + LED Pro6 Inserts
For customers who already run (or want to run) the classic round Daylighter housing, the LED Pro6 Insert is the easiest way to bring modern output into a light that already fits the vehicle's look. The housing stays the same, the retro shape you already know and like but the internals get replaced with a modern LED engine. It's a great option for someone who wants to keep things as close to "period correct" as possible while still ditching old halogen or sealed-beam performance.
If you'd rather skip the upgrade step altogether, the 6" Daylighter with Gravity® LED also comes as a complete pair pack system with the LED already built in from the factory. Same classic Daylighter housing and shape, just with the modern LED engine already inside, no separate insert purchase or upgrade needed.

Already Vintage-Styled, Already High-Performing: SlimLite 6"
Maybe you don't want to retrofit anything, you just want a light that already looks the part out of the box. The SlimLite 6" fits that need well: it has an old-school round housing profile right out of the box, so it won't look out of place next to your chrome trim and vintage bodywork, but it's built with modern LED performance. If you'd rather buy a light that's already classic-styled than modify an existing housing, this is the simpler route.
Full Headlight Retrofit: 7" Round Gravity® LED Headlights
If you're looking to replace your actual headlights, not just add fog or driving lights, our 7" Round Gravity® LED Headlights are a great option, and they're not just for Jeeps. Builders and fabricators have installed them in everything from Toyota FJs and Ford Broncos to Bel Airs, Camaros, and C10s. They're styled to add a touch of modern flare without looking out of place on a vintage vehicle, and the light output is a massive step up over old sealed-beams.
If you're retrofitting these into an older headlight bucket, there are companies that specialize in fitment kits and brackets to help them seat properly: KTL Restorations is one we partner with. Depending on your vehicle, some bucket modification may be needed for proper clearance, and their restoration experience can take the guesswork out of that process. Feel free to reach out to our Customer Service team with fitment questions, or contact KTL Restorations directly for vehicle-specific help.
Wiring: Simple by Default, Cleaner with a Switch Panel
Our wiring is built to make this easy on older vehicles. The stock harness plugs in without requiring a separate switch panel, it's plug-and-play, with no cutting or splicing needed. If you want the simplest possible install, you don't need to add anything extra.
That said, if you care about a clean, organized look under the hood, adding a switch panel is worth considering. It's not required, but it does make wiring management a lot neater, especially if you're particular about your engine bay presentation, which, let's be honest, most classic car owners are.
Have questions about which option fits your specific vehicle? Our Customer Service team is happy to help you figure out the best path forward.
