The PNW Is Calling
Hey! Natalie here.
This summer, I drove up the coast and spent over 2 months exploring the PNW and I feel like I didn't even see that much. I spent most of the time between the Oregon coast and the Seattle area, and I can't wait to go back.
The trip started off with attending the Northwest Overland Rally near Plain, WA. It's a very family friend event that is more focused on building community and learning as much as you can rather than shopping for new parts or new goodies (that we want but we really don't need). It's also a big event for Rebelles (if you haven't checked out the Rebelle Rally, you totally should. I competed back in 2023) to get together, reminisce, and help any new rookies that have signed up for the current year's rally.
Afterwards, I headed over to Overland Expo PNW to be apart of the Women Who Wander series, where I sat in on a Fireside Chat about the Rebelle and talking about LadiesNightCampouts (a community that I lead for women who love the outdoors, off-roading, and help build belonging in a community that is mainly male dominated).
Finally, I ended the trip visiting friends in the Seattle area and exploring the Olympic Peninsula before heading back south towards home. On the way home I explored Usal Road, also known as the lost coast, and this detour definitely rivals the Redwood Highway in my opinion.
Next summer, I can't wait to head back north. But next time I plan to spend as much time as I can up there. The PNW has stolen a piece of my heart.
